Carrick Lodge Motel - accommodation, Cromwell, Central Otago, New Zealand
After 30 years teaching in various rural and urban parts of New Zealand, as well as four years in the U.K. Rob and Joan have chosen to develop roots in Cromwell, Central Otago.
They have always believed that 'learning' is a life-long experience and so they put their skills and interests into the hospitality industry.
Central Otago has always held a fascination for them both. From their earliest memories of the gorges and ravines, the pioneering ambience of the early gold rush days, to the thunderous roar of the mighty Clutha and Kawarau Rivers now calmed within Lake Dunstan. This area excites the passions of history, and natural beauty.
CromwellWhether exploring historic sites, biking or walking the trails along rivers and lakeside, Cromwell offers much to be discovered.
The excitement of Queenstown is only a 40 minute drive away through the scenic Kawarau gorge. Along the route is the original AJ Hackett bungy at Gibbston Valley, Arrowtown nestled under the Crown Range terraces, past views of Coronet peak and the Remarkables Ski slopes to the beautiful Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown.
